Confirmation Bias & Motivated Reasoning

Everyone holds opinions and tends to believe their viewpoints are rational.

While some opinions may be rooted in facts, it's essential to recognize we might not always invest the necessary time to thoroughly consider all the facts and information available.

Human nature inclines us to gravitate towards facts that bolster our existing opinions. This tendency is known as confirmation bias.

Consequently, we might unconsciously overlook or dismiss information that challenges our beliefs.
